Support for Trafficked Women Our Club supported the Howard County Advocacy Group Against Slavery and Trafficking (Ho Co AGAST) by shopping for and wrapping gifts, and donating 20 holiday gift bags for trafficked clients. Ho Co AGAST distributed about 225 gift bags to six organizations in our area that serve victims and survivors of human trafficking. To quote one of the thank you letters, "The gifts were a huge hit. There were a lot of happy smiles all around. Thank you for bringing holiday joy to our clients." Food Boxes for Homeless Families Many organizations are providing short-term housing to families in hotels, keeping families safely together while they work to obtain more permanent homes. These families need food. This December our Club supported Grassroots for Crisis Intervention by gathering enough non-perishable food and supermarket gift cards to assemble five full Motel Food Boxes for homeless clients. Our Club plans to assemble and donate Motel Food Boxes throughout the year. Macy’s Shop for a Cause .Our Club takes part in the Macy's Shop For A Cause annual event. As a participating non-profit organization, Macy's gives our Club 25% Off savings passes (valid for the nationwide event weekend in August), which we sell for $5 each. The Club then keeps the proceeds from the savings pass sales. Howard County Food Bank  Our Club members collect and donate canned goods and non-perishable food items for the Howard County Food Bank. Toys for the Holidays Through the years, we have donated unwrapped toys that were given as Christmas presents to children in our community. Holiday Party for Seniors Our Club members have volunteered at holiday luncheons for the elderly at senior citizen centers in Howard County. We also assembled and donated some 30 gift bags of personal items to both women and men at each event. Clothing and Coat Donations We have collected and donated gently used women's professional clothing and accessories, and winter coats.
